1971-1986 Open Edition

Description

Released during the period from 1971 to 1986 as part of the Flights of Fancy Ceramic Series, this open edition pin features Tinker Bell standing upright with her arms extended slightly upward and to the right; she is depicted wearing white shoes and light steel blue wings adorned with small black dots. The artwork portrays the pixie in two distinct poses within the series, capturing a moment from Peter Pan where she faces forward while Roz Simon and Wendy Niven served as designers and owners of this whimsical jewelry line, which was produced by Disney and sold in various department stores and boutique retail locations across the United States and internationally. Although no backstamp is visible on the pin, it includes a glued-on straight back with a clasp mechanism, and these pieces were originally crafted to complement popular merchandise such as crayon boxes and tape dispensers before being licensed for mass market distribution by Disney in the early 1970s.
