Released in 2013 as part of the Open Edition for the DCA Redwood Creek Challenge Trail Badges Set of Hidden Mickey pins at Disneyland, each round pin features a simple outline of an emblem inspired by the film UP, representing badges needed to earn the title of Senior Wilderness Explorer; among these are the Animal Spirit badge, depicted as a yellow squirrel on a lavender background. The reverse side displays a detailed silver head waffle pattern with single posts and two nubs, alongside official Disney copyright markings, which were originally distributed only through trading or purchase via limited pouches containing random Hidden Mickey pins during July of that year, where the Animal Spirit emblem was specifically intended for use in Kenai's Spirit Cave as part of puzzles involving reading guides to determine the most likable character.
