DLR - Disneyland California 2005 Open Edition

Description

This open edition commemorative pin features an exact three-dimensional rendering of the Disneyland Resort's th anniversary logo, adorned with Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in bright shiny gold. The castle prominently displays the large number “50” on its facade, while a banner beneath it showcases the Disneyland Resort logo. Made from detailed cast metal, this pin is reminiscent of the enamel used in other merchandise during the resort's th anniversary celebration. It measures approximately "from top to bottom" with a width of around /. On the back, one finds a mini-square waffle pattern supporting one pin post and two sub-posts. The cover is a bright gold spring-loaded bell-shaped mechanism similar to those found on tie tacs, with square markings at the base bearing the copyright symbol “©Disney China.” When on clearance at Company D in Anaheim, the CM selling it admitted they had no details about its release date, SKU#, original price, or intended use. However, a former employee recalled that as far as she could confirm, this pin was not released for sale by any of the team centers during the th anniversary celebration. It is intriguing whether the missing pins were overlooked in storage or never received due to unforeseen circumstances during the extensive preparations for the event. Interestingly, while many commemorative pins incorporate a square waffle-patterned back, this pin features an alternative design with Mickey-head motifs typically not apparent in their regular appearances. Anyone with additional insights on this distinctive piece should share them here.
