Released in 2003 as an open edition, this pin encapsulates the highest honor a Disneyland Cast Member can achieve—demonstrating exceptional performance and commitment to the park's values, traditions, and expectations. Gold-tiered, it stands as the pinnacle of the Spirit Award program, divided into three tiers: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Each tier features a gold-colored pin, with Bronze pins marked with "k," Silver pins labeled "k," and Gold pins simply denoted by "k." These pins are manufactured by O.C. Tanner Company and come in small plastic presentation boxes. Members of Disneyland Management select recipients based on their performances in areas such as operations excellence, guest service, or cast excellence. Those nominated in two areas are often awarded the Silver tier, while those excelling in all three areas may progress to the Gold tier through a review process.
