Developed exclusively for Disney's Purchase It Now Store at DisneyAuctions.com, this black-metal prototype from the Maleficent series showcases Evil Fairy Maleficent riding a black steed atop a carousel. Featuring an edgy black design and gold-finished limited edition pins produced concurrently in the series that celebrates Disney’s most notorious villains, only four of these hard enamel prototypes were ever manufactured. This particular pin is an exemplar of artwork that previewed the eventual gold-embossed version in the "Pin Black" collection.
