This limited edition pin, originally produced as a cast member ambassador item from 1971 through 1986, had its bottom section removed due to be featured in an advertisement for Walt Disney World during the late 's. The ad showcased various military insignia and included a distinctive shiny symbol emblematic of Walt Disney World’s message. After modification and polishing by Disney's shop staff, it was reintroduced as part of a campaign promoting Armed Forces Day.
